Ubaque is a municipality of Cundinamarca Department located in Oriente province. This province is 50km east of Bogotá, in the foothills of three hills: The Guayacundo, the Fifth (Quinto) and San Pedro. Ubaque’s topography is full of mountains with a very rich biodiversity thanks to the variety of climates. The name of the town comes from a bush of red sap, Ybaquye, that means blood of wood. This area was ruled by the indigenous Chief Ebaque of the Muisca civilization.

The coffee comes from UBACAFE, an association of coffee farmers made up by 43 families living in 11 rural districts in the municipality. The association was constituted in 2010 with 50 hectares of technified crops under shade.
