Sitio Nossa Senhora is located in the state of Minas Gerais in the rolling hills of Mantiqueira de Minas, one of the premier coffee producing regions of Brazil. The Mantiqueira de Minas region is currently one of the best awarded regions in Brazil. Many of the Cup of Excellence winning coffees come from this region.
The property has been with the family since 1971, when they began to work with coffee, and during these years working on the land, forming the coffee plantations that now occupy much of the area. The producer utilizes familiar agriculture system, and achieving each year to increase the quality of their coffee in a sustainable way, supported by Emater Apas, certify Minas Coffee and Fair Trade program.
Coffee at Sítio Nossa Senhora is carefully picked, graded, and then left to sun dry on patios which are located on the farm. They are turned regularly every few hours to ensure uniform drying and prevent over fermentation.
A delicious natural process coffee is a tricky thing to get right, but when done well the results can be exceptional. This is a fine example of a well processed Brazil natural.
